Who We Are

Truagh Spirit is the brand for Truagh Development Association and all the activities that are carried out by and on behalf of Truagh Development Association in Truagh, the wider north Monaghan area and south Tyrone.

Truagh Development Association(TDA) is a community-led not-for-profit, registered with the Charities Regulator, which works for and with communities, families, individuals and businesses in Truagh and the wider north Monaghan area and south Tyrone.  TDA has successfully managed, coordinated and implemented a wide range of local, regional and European projects since its establishment in the 1970s.  It currently delivers 10 projects with particular focus on:

  1. Rural and Community Development
  2. Social Development
  3. Economic Development
  4. Environmental Development

Stakeholders and partner organisations include: Dep Rural and Community Development, Pobal, Monaghan County Council, Monaghan Integrated Development, the HSE, Cavan Monaghan ETB, Equal Ireland, An Garda Siochána, Aughnacloy Development Association, Dundalk IT, IFA, Teagasc, Irish Rural Link. 

TDA is a grassroots organisation, which is key to the development and delivery of all of the projects.

Our Mission

To work in partnership to achieve our vision to make Truagh and the wider north Monaghan area an attractive location to live, work and develop empowered and inclusive communities that inspire and embrace new opportunities, drive positive sustainable social, environmental and economic change, and reduce inequalities, thereby making the Truagh area an attractive location in which to live, do business, and visit.
